Ingredients
- 500 grams cooked haddock flaked
- 2 eggs
- 120 grams vermicelli cooked
- 300 ml white sauce
- 25 ml mayonnaise
- 5 ml prepared mustard
Instructions
- Combine the haddock and vermicelli in a greased ovenproof dish.
- Make two hollows in the mixture and drop in the raw eggs.
- Mix the mayonnaise and mustard into the white sauce and pour over the haddock mixture.
- Sprinkle with the grated cheese and bake in the oven at 180ºC (350ºF) until the eggs have set about 10 minutes. Serve hot.
Notes:
- Season the fish with salt and pepper and place in a greased or ungreased casserole. If using an ungreased dish, dot the fish with butter or margarine.
- Bake, covered, in the oven at 200ºC (400ºF) for 25 to 30 minutes, depending on the size of the fish. Test the fish to see if it is done by flaking it with a fork.
- Remove the lid from the dish for the last 5 minutes of the baking time to allow the fish to brown. Serve hot.
