Ingredients
- 500 grams spaghetti
- 1 tbsp salt
- 2 liters boiling water
- 1 tsp cooking oil
For the bolognaise
- 500 grams ground beef (mince)
- 1 tsp cooking oil
- 1 chopped onion large
- 1 carrot grated
- 6 tomatoes small to medium
- 2 tbsp Jimmy's sauce
- 1 tsp Spice for Mince
- ¼ tsp salt
- 1 tsp crushed garlic
- 1 cup grated Cheddar cheese to top with
Instructions
- Fry the onions in a pan until brown using the oil.
- While the onions are frying, add spaghetti to the 2 liters boiling water, with 1 tbsp salt and 1 tsp oil. Use a large pot.
- Boil the spaghetti for approximately 10 minutes, until al dente, then strain.
- Add garlic and mince to the fried onions. Fry some more until mince is brown.
- Add grated carrots, salt, Jimmy's sauce and spice.
- Add chopped tomatoes (fresh may be replaced by a large can of tomatoes).
- Simmer for approximately 10 minutes until meat is fully cooked.
- Serve bolognaise over a serving of strained spaghetti and top with cheese. You may also want to sprinkle with Parmesan cheese.
