Traditional South African Milk food (melkkos). A favorite amongst families all over South Africa. This recipe brings back childhood memories.
Traditional Melkkos (milk food)
- ¾ cup flour
- 1 lt milk
- 1 tbsp cinnamon
- 1 tbsp butter
- 1 tbsp sugar
- Wet fingertips with water and make lumps with the flour dropping it into the heated milk, stirring while bringing to a boil.
- Do not smoothen out the lumps, the texture should not be smooth like a white sauce.
- Serve hot with butter, cinnamon, and sugar.
