Egg Omelette With Cheese

An egg omelette is lovely for breakfast. Use this basic recipe for whichever filling you prefer. The secret is water, not milk!

  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp butter
  • 1 tbsp water
  • 1 tbsp cheddar cheese grated
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • cocktail tomatoes to garnish


  • Mix the eggs with water using a blender or a fork.
  • Melt butter in a non-stick pan on the stove. Cover the bottom of the pan with butter.
  • When butter starts bubbling, slowly pour in egg mix.
  • Cook for approximately 2 minutes. Edges should be solid enough to insert spatula to slide underneath.
  • Flip in a quick movement.
  • Switch off heat. Sprinkle with salt and pepper.
  • Top one half of omelette with cheese.
  • Fold over the other half.
  • Dish up and garnish. Serve with bread or toast.
