Ingredients
- 45 ml oil
- 1.5 kg stewing beef bone-in
- 3 onions chopped
- 1 kg carrots chopped
- 4 celery stalks chopped
- 45 ml tomato paste
- 2 garlic cloves chopped
- 400 grams whole peeled tomatoes
- 250 ml stockpot beef
- 125 ml dry white wine
- 400 grams white mushrooms
Maize Meal
- 500 ml milk
- 500 ml water
- 250 grams maize meal
- 400 grams whole kernel corn drained
- 30 ml butter salted
Instructions
- Using a large pot, heat the oil and brown the meat.
- Add the vegetables, except the mushrooms and fry.
- Add the tomato paste and garlic fry for 3 minutes.
- Add the beef, tomatoes, stock, and wine simmer for 1 ½ hour.
- Add the mushrooms and simmer for 30 minutes or until meat is tender.
- Bringing the milk and water to boil, stir in maize meal and simmer for 20 minutes, add corn to cook through.
- Stir in butter and serve stew warm with maize meal.
