  • 1 large egg
  • 1 185g can pie apples chopped
  • ½ cup sugar
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 60 ml milk


  • 1 can Ideal (evaporated milk
  • ½ cup sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla or caramel essence


  • Preheat oven to 180°C/356°F.
  • Beat sugar and egg together.
  • Add milk and flour.
  • Fold in drained apples.
  • Bake for 30 - 35 minutes.
  • Bring ideal milk and sugar to a boil.
  • Add essence and pour over tart while both are still hot.
